Gender...MAYBE!

Today, I had an appointment with the perinatalogist and had an ultrasound as well.  Firstly, (and most importantly) each baby is measuring right on track.  Baby A is measuring 14w0d, Baby B is measuring 14w1d, and Baby C is measuring 14w2d.  The ultrasonographer said it was quite normal for them to measure a few days differently, as long as they are growing at the expected rate this is normal.  Baby A is camera shy and really only gave us one good picture.  Baby B was rubbing his/her belly, he/she must've really enjoyed lunch.  Baby C was just hanging out sucking on his/her thumb.

The doctor said that everything is looking great, and said that I had a great chance of carrying the babies over 32 weeks.  She said that I need to take very good care of myself in order to accomplish that goal.   Overall, today was a great visit.

It is very early to be sure, but the ultrasonographer said that she believed that we MOST likely are going to have 2 boys and 1 girl.  The boys were a little more obvious, but Baby B was a harder to see, so B may be a boy too.  I will have another appointment and ultrasound in 3 weeks.  Hopefully we will get gender confirmation at that time.

Jaxon is being quite the trooper.  He is too wrapped up in school, t-ball and soccer to be concerned with the upcoming change.  However, he is taking the news well and is excited about the probability of brothers.

Thank you to everyone that is praying for our family.  We really appreciate your prayers and support.

Update

Today, I had an appointment with a maternal-fetal medicine specialist (Dr. Scott).  The babies all look great! --I am exactly 11 weeks today. We had an ultrasound that lasted about 30 minutes and got some pretty good pictures.  It is really hard to explain just how amazing it was to see them all wiggle around on the screen, Baby B even danced a little jig for us.  Both the ultrasonographer and the physician said that I would have an ultrasound at almost every appointment because this is the only way to monitor each of thier heart rates.

My physician is ultra conservative, thus she told me that vacationing at 21 weeks was "not a good idea."  Noah and I were kind of bummed about this, but we ultimately want to do what is best for the babies.  Now, instead of doing one big vacation, we will probably do a few weekend trips in the next two months. (Trip suggestions are welcome!)  Dr. Scott is hoping that I can make it to 34 weeks, but premature delivery is one of the most common problems in a mutiple gestation pregnancy.  In a few months, I will be seeing her more often in order to monitor this possible complication.
Jaxon was not feeling well when Aunt Christi picked him up today.  We hope that he is feeling better in the morning.  That little guy always has something funny to say, and it just isn't the same when he is under the weather.

And what you'll all been waiting for...sorry about the photo quality, I will scan them next time.

                                                                        Baby B

Baby C

All Three...

As they get larger, it is going to be very hard to get all three in the same picture.  Each baby has plenty of room, they just look squished because of the way the ultrasonographer had to angle the doppler.

My next appointment is in 3 weeks. I will let you all know if anything happens between now and then.  However, I am hoping that this will be an uneventful pregnancy!

Goodnight all!

I am obviously new at this...

Good afternoon everyone!

From now on, I am going to make my best effort to keep you all informed about our family and of course...news on the triplets. (The only baby news for now is that I have an appointment with a perinatalogist- high risk OB tomorrow. I will keep you all updated.)

As you will soon figure out, I am not (nor claim to be) the best writer in the world.  However, that is not the intent of this blog.  As for the name of the blog, we must first honor our first child, Jaxon.  For those of you that know him, you understand just how much he LOVES sports! Thus, the "triple threat" refers to very different things/actions in basketball, football and wrestling. (I'm positive that he'd participate in the later if there was such a organization crazy enough to let 5 year-old boys do so.)  "Triple Threat" also obviously refers to our triplets that are expected to arrive in September...for those of you that have stumbled upon this blog by chance.

I will update you all after the appointment tomorrow.
